lighthouseI recently received an e-newsletter from the Amazing Laura West and here is what jumped out at me.

“You Matter. Your thoughts. Your ideas. Your unique way of seeing and talking about the world matters. When you show up and share your voice, your life, your art… it matters. It changes the people around you. And when you are hiding, go missing… it matters. Life isn’t what it potentially could be without you. Because YOU matter.”

I took this a step farther when I was writing in my journal this morning. Here’s what came up for me.

Who you are matters. What you do matters. How you show up matters. What you contribute matters. How you spend your time matters. How you present yourself matters. Who you spend time with matters. The choices you make matter. How you share your gifts matters. How you perceive yourself matters. What you say Yes to matters. What you say No to matters. What you think about matters. What you talk about matters. How you define yourself matters. The energy you project matters. How you view the world matters.

Why? Because YOU matter!

What about you? What gifts are you sharing with the world? What can you contribute today?  What kind of energy are you projecting in the world? How do you define yourself? How are you a gift to the world?

I invite you to schedule a complimentary coaching session with me. Find out why you matter.

Thanks Elda. What a wonderful gift you are sharing with the world. If only everyone would demonstrate compassion and loving kindness, this would be a far more peaceful world.

Reading this brought to my mind the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart. A movie I used to watch every year around the holidays. Very touching words you used here today.

What gift am I sharing with the world? Many years ago, I made a decision that I want to try to demonstrate compassion and kindness to each individual I meet each day. I keep working on it as one is never perfected at something like this.

This is lovely … It is only in the past few years that I have started to understand that I do matter and that I have value to add. I have understood that my perception of whether I matter or not, is just that, a perception. We all matter, everyone plays an important role 🙂

Christine, thank you for your thoughtful comments. I would love to talk with you more about the retreats you lead. That is a new venue for me and I led my first one in October. Can we message through facebook about this. One of the benefits of this wonderful blogging community is the networking that goes on. What will I contribute today? Joy, Connection and a Positive Attitude:)

Nancy, As usual I love your blog and the reminders that speak to my soul. To answer a couple of your questions:
What gifts are you sharing with the world?
My love, my art and my gift of facilitating change through retreats, coaching and being present.
    What can you contribute today?
    Peace, joy and gratitude. <3!

Thanks for your comments Linda. I agree with you that hiding out is sometimes necessary to take care of ourselves, re-energize or simply “to be.”

When I lead a T’ai Chi Chih group, I always end with ackowledging the peace and harmony and beauty that we have created and that it ripples out from us “in ways we know not how.” Yes, we do all matter. I’d take it one step further – we also matter when we go hiding. Sometimes hiding out is necessary to recoup, to listen. So that also matters. Great post. Thank you!
