bald eagleAs I was walking in nature this morning, I spotted a beautiful bald eagle flying low along the river. All of a sudden it changed direction and soared up to the middle of a tree. Usually bald eagles are spotted in flight or at the top of dead trees so I thought how unusual that it would choose the middle of a tree. When I returned from my walk I looked up the eagle in my Animal Medicine book. Here’s what I learned. ” Eagle medicine is the power of the Great Spirit, the connection to the Divine. It is the ability to live in the realm of spirit, and yet remain connected and balanced within the realm of Earth. Eagle soars, and is quick to observe expansiveness within the overall pattern of life. Eagle represents a state of grace achieved through hard work, understanding, and a completion of the tests of initiation which result in the taking of one’s personal power. It is  only through the trial of experiencing the lows in life as well as the highs, and through the trial of trusting one’s connection to the great Spirit, that the right to use the essence of Eagle medicine is earned.” According to the book, if an eagle crosses your path, be aware that eagle may be sending you a message. “Eagle is reminding you to take heart and gather your courage, for the universe is presenting you with an opportunity to soar above the mundane levels of your life. The power of recognizing this opportunity may come in the form of a spiritual test. In being astute, you may recognize the places within your soul, personality, emotions or psyche that need bolstering or refinement. By looking at the overall tapestry, Eagle teaches you to broaden your sense of self beyond the horizon or what is presently visible. In learning to attack your personal fear of the unknown, the wings of your soul will be supported by the ever present breezes which are the breath of the Great Spirit.”

What messages does the Eagle have for you today? Where in your life do you need to be more courageous? Where do you need to broaden your horizons? How can you access your personal power? What are you being called to do? How can you take flight like the eagle?  How can you be fearless today?

In just over 30 minutes I have to register my daughter for her classes for this September. She’s at work and has entrusted this job to me. Absolutely over the top with worry that I’ll mess up and enroll her for the completely wrong courses. Or even better the computer will go offline and I will be powerless to fix it. Silly I know but I can’t help myself. Thank you for the nudge to realise of course I can do this. And do it correctly! I shall soar above my fears and delight in the fact that she has asked me to do it for her!

What a lovely blessing from Eagle Nancy! For myself I could thank Eagle for widening my perspective today. I had to unexpected contacts from two old friends today, both from very different times and places in my life. It helped me see how wide my path has been in a way I’d never been quite aware of before.

The eagle is speaking load and clear to me today.
my opportunity to soar is right at my fingertips. i am ready to begin running workshops and I am scared beyond belief. I am scared no one will come and those that do will think i don’t know what i am doing.
I am being called to do this, I am bursting to share with the world, have been for 6 months.
Eagle thank you for giving me a little nudge today.
