Why do I blog? I blog because I enjoy writing. I love words and language and blogging is a creative outlet for me. I have always loved writing, letter writing, poems, hand written thank you notes. Remember the days when we corresponded with family and friends through hand written letters? Today, it’s a lost art. I am always thrilled to find a hand addressed letter/note in my mailbox. When was the last time you received a letter, hand written, not computer generated in the mail? Blogging speaks to the writer within me. It allows me to express myself creatively, to share my thoughts and experiences with others. I started blogging a year ago when my website was launched in February, 2014. I took to it like a duck takes to water. Another benefit of blogging is the online community I am part of. I joined a group called Inspired Blogging Group created by Michele Bergh and it’s been great. It’s made up of a group of people who are actively engaged in their lives and up to all kinds of amazing things. Here’s the link in case you want to check it out.

What about you? Why do you blog? What do you blog about? How long have you been blogging? I would love to hear from you!

I love hearing why you blog Nancy, and I hope your question inspires others to write about it as well. It feels especially timely to me as I’ve been having an ongoing discussion with a friend who is about to dip her toes into the blogging world. And it’s got me thinking about why I do it. I love writing now and am delighted with the connections I’ve made, but I think back to the early days and don’t feel clear about what my original motivation was. I hardly recognize myself the me who was stumbling to find her voice then.

I blog because I want to share my opinions on the things I’ve read and watched. Especially once I started getting free books from publishers and authors, I wanted to respect that by spreading the words to as many people as possible.

When you talk of hand written notes it makes me think of my daughter. She is in heaven when she receives snail mail. So I must send her a note. 🙂 I am also drawn to create note cards again. I used to do this with pictures I’ve taken from my gardens. Thank you for the inspiration Nancy. 🙂

What great comments Janet! Finding my voice is definitely one of the many benefits of blogging. I, too, follow my intuition and when it said try blogging, I listened. Thanks for your comments Janet:)

Nancy, I also am a lover of writing. It helps me organize my brain and to see more clearly. I started out blogging because I am committed to following my intuition . . . and my intuition said, “do it.” I blog about art, intuition, healing and life. I started 2 3/4 years ago, and I find it has strengthened my voice.
