stone archI took a leap of faith in February when I starting blogging. I had never blogged before and this was new territory for me. Five months later and I am still blogging and loving it. My last post was about Eagle Wisdom,  eagle spoke to me again this morning. As I walked across the bridge near my home, a bald eagle flew directly over me. Eagle spoke to me about courage today, leap and the net will appear is what  I heard. I am designing a fall retreat, an Artist’s Way Retreat. This is a new venue for me, a new adventure, a new learning curve and I know the time is right to take the plunge. The retreat will be in late October at the beautiful ARC Retreat Center near Cambridge, MN. When I did a site visit last week, not only was I struck by the beauty of the grounds and the lodge but also the feeling of peace and tranquility. As I sat on the screen porch before lunch I felt the peace wrapping around me like a warm, cozy blanket. The sound of silence, the sound of nature, the sound of serenity.

Faith is the opposite of fear and I can honestly say the fear is still there when I think about what I am stepping into. I have a visual or metaphor that I’ve used in the past and it feels appropriate to bring it out again. My visual is a scale, one side is fear and the other side is excitement. As long as the excitement side of the scale is even a little bit higher than the fear side of the scale, I jump off the cliff and take that leap of faith. I am taking a leap of faith and trusting that the net will appear.

What about you? Where in your life do you need to be courageous? What risks have you been avoiding? How can you do something fearless today? In what area of your life can you stretch more? When will you take a leap of faith?

    Hi Amy,
Going to medical school and a residency program sounds incredibly courageous to me. I think anytime we follow our dreams, we are being fearless. Thanks for being willing to promote my Retreat, I so appreciate it!

    Hi Nancy:
Congratulations on the development of your Artist’s Way Retreat- let me know the details and I would be happy to promote it on my social media. Hmmm, courage… I think I would have to say going to medical school and then a residency program was one of the bravest things I have done. (Though at the time I did not think that I was being courageous- just following a dream.) 🙂
