Hiring the HeavensHiring the Heavens by Jean Slatter is a little treasure trove of a book. It is jam packed with exercises and ideas about how to manifest what it is we want in our lives. The book was recommended to me by one of the women in my Artist’s Way group. Thank you Donna! The premise of the book is that we can engage celestial helpers, invisible assistants, cosmic forces, angels, guides, Spirit, the Heavens, the Divine to help us manifest what we want to create in our lives. Slatter says “I’m talking about being connected to the power of the Heavens and bringing it down to Earth to use in your everyday life. Imagine that the Spirits of Creation are standing ready to assist you in making your world. Believe that not only is the power to summon that creativity flowing through you, it is your divine right, divine assignment, even to wield it.” Slater uses the analogy of hiring people from a temporary employment agency. She suggests we call in celestial helpers to help us in any and all areas of our lives. She says “Ask with intention and trust the Universe to support you. The door can then open wide for a serendipitous solution to appear.”

Here are a few guidelines she recommends when hiring the heavens. Speak your intention out loud, be playful and lighthearted, use your imagination, no request is too small. Here is a personal example of how I am currently using this process. I am leading a retreat for women in May and I have six spots still available. This morning in my morning pages I asked for help and this is what I asked for. I am looking for six special women to attend my May retreat and I want to hire a team of recruiting angels. Angels who will be out and about planting seeds, whispering in women’s ears inviting them to the retreat. These angels of engagement will be speaking to the women who want to participate in the retreat. I am cheering them on saying Go Angels, you can do it! I encourage you to pick up a copy of Hiring the Heavens and to play with the creative process of hiring your own celestial guides to create whatever it is you most want to manifest in your life. Good Luck!

What about you? What do you want to create in your life? How can this be easy? How can this be fun? When will you hire your own celestial helpers?

I invite you to join me at my May Retreat, The Masks We Wear, the Journey to Our Authentic Self at the ARC Retreat Center in Cambridge, MN. Details are on my website. I am saving a spot especially for you:)

Have had a number of positive things happen to me recently as a result of asking for help from celestial helpers. I’m with you. They’re out there – just awaiting the call.

Setting an intention, sharing it with others, saying it out loud, etc.- there is so much power in that! Love the message 🙂

I agree Michele. There is something about verbalizing the intention that is so powerful. Thanks for your comments!

Thanks Elda. It’s a great book and the process really works. I’ve got my team of celestial helpers out there in the field talking to women every day:)

I *love* “Hiring the Heavens.” I’ve been using it for several years now, always with great results. Another book along the same lines is called “The Gentle Way: A Self-Help Guide for those who Believe in Angels” by Tom T. Moore. “The Gentle Way” is even simpler than “Hiring the Heavens,” and perhaps even more effective for me. These two books are great together. 🙂
