candles-burning

I attended a retreat the last week of October in Virginia Beach, VA, called Creative Business Retreat by the Sea. It was led by the amazing LauraWest at joyfulbusiness.com and it was Fabulous! During one of the sessions, the phrase “Share Your Shine” came up and I really resonated with it and decided to do a blog post about it at some point, so here goes. Each one of us has a light inside of us and it’s up to us to make the choice, to let it shine brightly or to keep it hidden. There is a poem by Marianne Williamson that talks about this. She says, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.”

Today, more than ever, the world needs all of us to let our lights shine brightly, lighting the way for others to do the same. This is the time to show up as leaders, sharing our shine, and leading the way to a more peaceful, inclusive, and loving world for all of us to enjoy.

What about you? Will you let your light shine brightly as a beacon of hope to others? How can you share your shine today? How can you step into a leadership role in your community, workplace, family?

Share Your Shine!
