Earlier this week I participated in a webinar called “Radical Ideas for Radical Times.” During the webinar, the facilitator, Laura West, of http://www.joyfulbusiness.com/ talked about some current and rebounding trends. Two of the trends really jumped out at me, stress and anger. People are so stressed out and angry because of the things going on in our country and in our everyday lives. Think about the traffic jams, natural disasters, senseless violence, rising crime levels, technology challenges and the list goes on. You are not a victim, you are not helpless. There are things you can do to alleviate and lessen the stress in your life. The 10 tips I am recommending are simple, low cost or free ideas which will lower your stress level.
- Take a walk in nature
- Develop a daily meditation practice
- Journal
- Create an art journal
- Take a yoga class
- Schedule a massage
- Make a gratitude list
- Write a poem, it doesn’t even need to rhyme
- Make a DONE List instead of a TO DO List
- Color in your adult coloring book
What about you? Are you feeling stressed out and/or angry? What one Action Step will you take today to lower your stress level? Feel free to leave a comment about what you are doing to reduce the stress in your life. I would love to hear from you:)
