Have you ever asked yourself, what is another perspective on this, how can I look at this situation or person differently, what is another viewpoint I might take? Perspective is how we view the world or a particular situation or person, it’s our point of view, how we see things. I had an opportunity this morning to change my perspective. As I was walking in nature, I noticed how the humidity felt like a wet blanket that covered my body. I have asthma and humidity is not my friend. I felt like I was in the tropics, but where was the beautiful, blue ocean? What a great opportunity to change my perspective about the humidity that was drenching my body. So I asked myself, what’s another perspective I might take in regard to the humidity which makes it hard for me to breathe? How can I look at this differently I queried? What came to me quickly and effortlessly is the following. Here I am out in nature, one of my favorite places to be. I am enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds that live along the river, how fortunate I am! Exercise is beneficial for my body, mind and spirit and I enjoy exercising. I am physically able to walk at a pretty good speed and get my heart rate up. So many reasons to be grateful. Changing my perspective made the humidity a non issue instead of the focal point of my walk. I am so fortunate to be able to choose another perspective at any time, what a gift!
